The American way of life depends on civilian government networks and data. But the federal enterprise is under constant threat of disruption from advanced cyber adversaries. Reducing operational risk and driving more effective cyber risk management across the Federal Civilian Executive Branch (FCEB) has never been more important: The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) program is rising to meet the need.
CDM helps civil agencies strengthen their management of assets, user access controls, network security, and data protection. By supplying tools, integration services, and dashboards to visualize cyber risks at individual agencies and across the government, the program enables agencies to reduce vulnerabilities, increase visibility, respond to significant incidents faster, and streamline reporting.
Now, the program is entering a new era based on a strong foundation of tools that work, data that can be trusted, and agency partnerships that have been developed and cemented over a decade. Today, CDM enables CISA to respond to cyber threats in a coordinated, accelerated way. Going forward, it will be an essential enabler of proactive, coordinated, and agile cyber defense across the federal enterprise.
